Drippy Treats: Enjoy Frozen Fruit

Enjoy frozen fruit

I love to serve all sorts of fruit for dessert—it’s naturally sweet, refreshingly juicy and bursting with goodness. What may be surprising is just how dessert-like frozen fruit can be. When you freeze grapes, blueberries, mango chunks, sliced bananas and peaches, and other fruit options, you’re left with a seriously creamy and rich texture that is insanely good…it’s almost as indulgent as ice cream. Give it a try and I’m betting you will be hooked.

Drippy Treats: Try these melt-in-your-mouth goodies

My Key Lime Pie Bark combines protein-packed creamy Greek yogurt, sweet honey, zesty key lime juice (and zest) and crunchy graham crackers—that’s it! Let the kids help you whip it up and devour it. You can make it ahead of time, break into pieces and stash in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy. Another family-friendly treat is my Frozen Button Candy. These gems, which get their inspiration from candy dots (remember those little pop-in-your-mouth candies that you could never get cleanly off the paper backing?!) require just fruit and Greek yogurt. Also, semi-sweet chocolate chips if you decide to go the extra mile and stuff your raspberries like I do in the recipe. Again, they’re snap to make and oodles of fun to eat. They’re a perfect summer snack-tivity with the kids.

Drippy Treats: Slurp your heart out

Slurp your heart out

Stay hydrated by slurping up some thirst-quenching beverages. Lemonade is a summer staple, and frozen creations are on regular rotation in my house. My Frozen Peach Lemonade features a seasonal superstar—peaches—and this Frozen Strawberry Lemonade is equally as delish. If you’re in the mood for a slushy, I highly recommend this 2-ingredient rendition that’s sweet and tart in all the right ways…and made without a drop of added sugar. Get the recipe here.

Drippy Treats: Let’s get licking

Let’s get licking

Summer days means sticky hands from melting popsicles! Try my Peaches and Cream or Cherry Pineapple spins. Want an ultra-healthy twist? Whip up a batch of my Superfood Ice Pops, which feature berries, flaxseed, matcha and even kale. (Promise you can’t taste the kale 🤫)  For an adult boozy spin, I recommend these Salted Caramel Pop-tails or my Sangria Pops. And to stop “pop drip,” use a paper cupcake liner to catch drippy trickles from melting pops. Simply poke a small hole into the center of the bottom and slide it up the popsicle stick.

Or give these ice pop molds a try.

Drippy Treats: scrape and savor

Scrape and Savor

Take a tasty stroll down memory lane by whipping up your own chilly Italian Ice. My homemade version contains no added sugar or artificial flavorings or colorings. In fact, in my DIY Italian ice, I use just two ingredients: fruit and LaCroix Sparkling Water. Or you can try these other fruit-inspired frozen fixes: My Lemon-Lime-Coconut Sorbet, which is tropical, creamy and dairy-free or my Minty Grapefruit, which is simply frozen grapefruit that’s frozen and shredded.
