Healthy Shaved Peach Ice (Easy Frozen Fruit Dessert, No Added Sugar)
If you’ve ever craved something frosty, refreshing, and sweet—but without any syrups or added sugar—this one’s for you. Shaved Peach Ice is pure summer magic.

All you need is one ripe peach, frozen until rock-solid, then grated into delicate icy crystals. The result? A bowl of naturally sweet, peachy “snow” that melts in your mouth like the healthiest snow cone you’ve ever had. I also do this trick using frozen pineapple spears to make Shaved Pineapple Ice!
Why you’ll love this peach ice
- Just one ingredient: A ripe frozen peach is all it takes!
- Choose your texture: Use a microplane for fluffy “snow” or a box grater for chunkier shavings.
- Kid-approved fun: Little ones love watching the peach transform into icy flakes (and gobbling them up just as fast!).
- Healthy + hydrating: A nutrient-rich way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I love that it feels fun and indulgent, yet it’s made from nothing more than ripe fruit. For a little extra flair, you can shave a frozen strawberry over the top for a rosy red garnish or sprinkle with finely minced fresh mint. You can even scatter toasted coconut or mini chocolate chips on top.
Decide on your preferred texture:
- Microplane = fluffy, snow-like crystals that practically dissolve on your tongue.
- Box grater (large holes) = chunkier, crunchier shavings with more bite.
Either way, it’s a refreshing, one-ingredient treat that’s hydrating and super fun to make. Healthy Shaved Peach Ice (Easy Frozen Fruit Dessert, No Added Sugar)
Ingredients
- 1 ripe peach, skin on, frozen solid
- 1 frozen strawberry, to grate over the top + 1 teaspoon finely minced fresh mint, optional
Instructions
- Tip for holding the frozen peach: If it’s too cold to grip, wrap a layered paper towel around it or wear kitchen gloves to protect your hand.
- Best enjoyed fresh: Shaved peach ice keeps its fluffy texture for about 10 minutes before melting. It doesn’t re-freeze well, so shave just before serving.
- Naturally sweet: With nothing but fruit, this refreshing dessert delivers pure peach flavor—no syrups, dyes, or added sugar. The riper your peach, the sweeter and juicer your shaved ice will be.
Notes

Can you do this with any other fruits?
Hi Karen! Yes, pineapple works really well (check out Joy’s Pineapple Ice recipe here). Joy tried it with kiwi (fail) and in her opinion, watermelon and cantaloupe get too mushy (even though the mush was still good LOL). Let us know if you give it a shot! — Eliza (Team Joy)
My sister and I tried the Shaved Peach Ice and absolutely loved it!!
We had it atop yogurt and the oohs and ahhs didn’t stop.
We are thinking of other fruits we could do this with. We saw you shared it with pineapple. Any other fruits you recommend?
Oh my gosh, I LOVE hearing this, Susan!! I’m thrilled you and your sister enjoyed this shaved peach ice (and topping yogurt with it—brilliant move!!). Pineapple works amazingly well, too, and I highly recommend. I’ve tried melons and kiwi but didn’t have the best luck…they tend to mush up. I’m still experimenting and will be sure to share when I strike gold! In the meantime, you might also have fun trying frozen mango. xx
