Whether you’re hosting a football-watching party or tailgating with friends, you’ll want food that’ll get the crowd cheering. And let’s be honest, the two Fs—food and football–are the perfect pair. That said, I have your taste buds covered with healthy renditions of mouthwatering munchies from chili to wings and nachos to dips. Bring it in and let’s say “Yum” on three!

Tailgating Goodies: White Bean Chili

Smoky Winter White Bean Chili

Chili is often a #1 pick for sports fans. It’s got macho appeal with its hearty texture and  full-bodied flavor. It’s also action-packed with versatile ingredients and can be made countless ways. In this version I use white beans to give the recipe a “winter white” spin. Like all beans, these gems contain fiber and protein, but they have the added benefit of providing calcium. Set up a toppings bar (light sour cream or Greek yogurt, cilantro, avocado, salsa) and watch everyone dig in!

Tailgating Goodies: Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

Cauliflower Buffalo “Wings”

You can’t watch the big game without a basket of fiery, lip-burning wings. I make a version that goes faster than a speedy wide receiver with a cornerback hot on his tail. Instead of using chicken, I create “wings” using cauliflower. Before you call a timeout, hear me out: Cauliflower is mild tasting and somewhat meaty and creamy, so can be used in a variety of recipes to add nutrition as well as cut calories and carbs. These wings are king!

Tailgating Goodies: Dips

Dips

Chips and dip go together like…. a touchdown dance after a touchdown. Speaking of victory dances, I hope you’ll be doing one after sampling these dip-alicious creations. My Spinach Artichoke is a lightened-up spin on the beloved classic and its super simple to make. This Buffalo Artichoke Dip combines the cherished flavors of fiery wings with spinach artichoke dip into one tasty dish. And for hungry vegans, this Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip is a dairy-free option that’s packed with protein and fiber. Pick your favorite dipper—crudité, whole grain chips or pita. Snag a spot on the couch and start munching.

Tailgating Goodies: Nachos

Nachos

Regular nachos are benched—we’re calling in one (or both) of these scrumptious subs instead. These Buffalo Chicken Nachos are packed with protein and have a fiery flavor your football fans will love. Plus, they’re easy-breezy to toss together. You can also make these Bacon Cheeseburger Nachos—crispy tortilla chips layered with bacon cheeseburger crumbles and topped with a “special sauce.” Nacho average nachos… but filled with football-friendly deliciousness and ready to devour!

Tailgating Goodies: Virgin Hot Toddy

Virgin Hot Toddy

Hot Toddy is a classic cold-weather drink. I make a version that’s warm and soothing…and alcohol-free so everyone can enjoy! I use all the standard seasonings and spices that make it delicious (lemon juice, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla) and I add Lemon LaCroix Sparkling water so the bright citrusy taste really shines through. You can whip it up for a football get-together or anytime you need a tasty sip to snuggle up with on the couch.
