Spread the love—and yumminess—with this tasty sandwich topper. Avocado can be mashed into a smooth spread, which makes a heart-healthy, creamy replacement for mayo. A quick tip: Make sure your avocado is ripe, which allows for easy smearing. If you find it’s too firm, you can mash it in a bowl with a fork before adding it to your sandwich. Aim for about ¼ to ⅓ avocado per wrap, and feel free to slather it right down the center or around the entire perimeter. Then, add your favorite fixin’s—turkey, eggs, tuna salad, chicken, veggies—wrap and enjoy.

This recipe makes 1 wrap

• ¼ avocado, mashed
• 1 whole-grain wrap
• 2 ounces sliced turkey
• 1 ounce Swiss cheese
• Spinach leaves


Spread mashed avocado on wrap and layer on turkey, Swiss and spinach leaves on top.  Tuck both ends of wrap, and beginning from one end, roll tightly toward the other end. Cut in half and enjoy with crunchy veggies on the side.
