This blended beverage is sunshine in a glass—frosty, citrus-kissed, and wonderfully simple to whip up. It’s made with frozen strawberries, orange juice, fresh lime juice, a splash of water, and rum for a frozen cocktail that feels festive without being fussy.

As a dietitian, I’m always looking for ways to bring a little balance to the party. Here, frozen strawberries add pretty color and vitamin C, while orange and lime juice bring that fresh daiquiri brightness. And because the fruit does so much of the heavy lifting, there’s no need for sugary mixers.

This icy sip fits right into my adults-only summer lineup alongside my Watermelon MargaritaGazpacho MartiniSangria Pops, and my classic Piña Colada.

I love making this when the weather is warm, the glasses are chilled, and everyone seems to magically gather near the kitchen. That’s my cue to turn the moment into a mini happy hour!

Want to make it alcohol-free? Simply skip the rum and add an extra splash of orange juice or water. You can also play with pink grapefruit, cranberry, or pineapple juice if you want to give your frozen daiquiri a fun little flavor twist. No wrong turn!

Strawberry Orange Daiquiri

A refreshing blend of frozen strawberries, orange and lime, with a touch of rum, offering a delicious twist on the classic daiquiri.
Yield: 2 daiquiris
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 shot rum
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries*
Ingredient Details to Know
* If you can find frozen “sliced” strawberries, they’ll be easier to blend than whole. But whole works, too. You can always slice your own fresh strawberries and freeze them.

Equipment

Instructions

  • Starting with the liquids first, add all the ingredients to a blender and puree until thick and smooth. Since it’s a thick mixture, you may have to stop once or twice and mix the contents with a spoon to loosen them up. You can also add a splash of extra water if needed.

Notes

• In my experience, adding the liquids to your blender first (and saving the berries for last), will make blending MUCH easier.
• I use frozen strawberries to give the beverage that thick and luscious texture. Fresh strawberries will be delicious but yield a significantly thinner beverage.
• You can swap cranberry juice, pink grapefruit juice, or pineapple juice for the orange juice. Each will bring a different fruity flavor adventure.
• Feel free to omit the rum for a virgin daiquiri.
• This recipe makes 2 ¾ cups. It can be served as one large serving or divided into two smaller servings. If serving two smaller portions, you can add an additional shot of rum.
• A standard shot of rum = 1.5 ounces = 3 tablespoons
