Blackberry Margarita

I put a new spin on this classic cocktail by incorporating fresh blackberries to provide natural sweetness while simultaneously upping the nutrition ante.

Ingredients
 

  • ¾ cup fresh blackberries, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey
  • ¼ cup sparkling wine or champagne
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • In a glass, lightly muddle ½ cup of the blackberries with the honey and lime juice using a wooden spoon.
  • Add the tequila, ice cubes, and the remaining ½ cup blackberries (leave them whole) and gently stir. Top with the sparkling wine or champagne.
  • For an extra-special touch, line your glass rims with salt or sugar before making your cocktails.
