Fall’s Best Bevvies

Nothing marks the start of fall better than the arrival of chunky sweaters, changing leaves…and the PSL craze! In fact, the beloved pumpkin spice latte is so revered, its acronym—PSL—is right up there with “OMG,” “TGIF” and “LOL.” And while there’s no denying its Taylor Swift-level fame, there are other seasonal sips that are just as tasty and comforting. Whether you’re looking for a warm-your-bones drink or a bubbly lift, these health-ified drinks are some of the best fall has to offer.

Fall’s Best Bevvies: Pumpkin Spice Latte

Pumpkin Spice Latte

This bevvy is queen of the autumn scene, there’s no arguing that fact. It made its debut more than 20 years ago and ever since, we’ve been spinning through drive throughs to enthusiastically order one before PSL season ends in early November. We can’t get enough of the unique and satisfying combo of espresso (or coffee), steamed milk, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and whipped cream. Or…for a lighter and less pricy version, you can always try my DIY version. It’s just as tasty and super easy to whip up right in your own kitchen. Big bonus: no waiting on long drive-through lines!

Fall’s Best Bevvies: Sparkling Apple Cider

Sparkling Apple Cider

Apple cider is another fall classic. Enjoying a glass of the fresh, crisp, naturally sweet beverage is like the ultimate toast to welcome Autumn. Apple cider is made from pressing raw, fresh apples—it involves minimal processing and contains no added sugar. You can serve a glass cold or warm; both are equally delicious. Or you can use it as an ingredient in recipes. For instance, I pair it with LaCroix Peach-Pear to create a flavorful sparkling cider garnished with a cinnamon stick and fresh apple slices. It’s as pleasing to serve as it is to sip!

Fall’s Best Bevvie’s: Spiced Chai

Spiced Chai

Chai it…you’ll like it! This chai—another word for tea—features a traditional mix of warming spices, including cardamom, clove, cinnamon, fennel, and nutmeg (of course, you can personalize the spices based on what you have and what you like). The result: A complex and flavorful sip that is both soothing and comforting. I typically make a big batch and store it in the fridge so I can heat up a mug whenever I’m in the mood. It’s like they always say, chai, chai again 😉

Fall’s Best Bevvies: Spicy Hot Chocolate

Spicy Hot Chocolate

Some like it hot…when it comes to a recipe’s temperature and heat level. This hot cocoa accomplishes both goals. It’s steamy with a hint of sweetness from the trifecta of chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon, but also spicy thanks to the addition of cayenne pepper, which you can adjust up or down depending on your preference. You get the best of both worlds in a single cup—rich, velvety cocoa (hello, sweet) and a fiery kick of heat (hey there, spicy!). It’s a harmonious blend of contrasting flavors and sensations. If you prefer a milder cup, try this Almond Hot Cocoa recipe (which you swap in any milk you prefer) instead. You’ll love it a-choco-lot!

Fall’s Best Bevvie: Chamomile Hot Toddy

Chamomile Hot Toddy

As the weather starts to cool off, you may be looking for a tasty way to warm up. Here’s a terrific recommendation: My Chamomile Hot Toddy. Normally, a hot toddy is a timeless drink made from a combination of warm spirits, sweet honey, zesty citrus and aromatic spices. This version, a soothing spin, includes chamomile tea. And go ahead, add a little bourbon if you feel like it. Consider this cup your passport to relaxation and warmth as the air takes on the distinct chill of fall. Cheers!
