Strawberry Matcha Iced Latte
I always get a kick out of those gorgeous coffee shop drinks with the beautiful layers and vibrant colors—you know, the ones that look almost too pretty to sip. So of course, I had to make my own Joy-ified version at home… and this Strawberry Matcha Iced Latte is the result.

This one gives you those eye-catching red, white, and green layers that make it feel extra special, but it’s still incredibly simple to pull together. The strawberry layer is sweet, bright, and fruity. The milk layer adds that creamy café-style middle. And the matcha layer on top brings a gorgeous green finish plus a gentle boost of energy.
Step 1: Make strawberry layer

Step 2: Build your latte

And when you insert the straw and give it a gentle stir? Mine turns into the prettiest tie-dye beverage—funky, swirly, and full of color! It’s one of those drinks that’s just as fun to look at as it is to sip.

And beyond the pretty presentation, these ingredients are a true power couple. Strawberries deliver vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber, while matcha offers protective catechins plus L-theanine, which helps promote calm, focused energy. Since there’s just ½ teaspoon matcha per serving, the caffeine effect is subtle—more of a gentle lift than a jolt. Together, they create a sip that feels refreshing, uplifting, and a little fancy—in the best way.
It’s the kind of drink that looks impressive enough for guests, but easy enough to make on an ordinary afternoon when you want something fun. Just don’t forget the straw… the magic happens when you give it a stir and start sipping.

Perfect, thank you!
How much caffeine is in one serving?
Hi Anne! The caffeine in matcha can vary a bit depending on the brand, but on average it contains about 60–70 mg of caffeine per teaspoon. Since this recipe uses ½ teaspoon per serving, you’re getting roughly 30–35 mg of caffeine per glass. For comparison, a typical 8-ounce cup of coffee has about 90–120 mg of caffeine, so this is a gentler, more steady boost. Enjoy!— Eliza (Team Joy)
What matcha do you use?
Hi Dan! Recently, I’ve been using Pique and love it because it’s super smooth and not bitter. Joy also likes Jade Leaf Matcha, and she has tried a few smaller, specialty matcha powders that friends have brought back from Japan that have been wonderful too. Hope that helps, and enjoy the latte!— Eliza (Team Joy)
