Oatmeal with Nuts and Berries

This warm bowl of oats is creamy, satisfying and crave-worthy. I bumped up the protein and fiber by adding heart-healthy nuts and berries.

Ingredients
 

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup berries
  • 2 tablespoons nuts, chopped walnuts, almonds or peanuts
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 dash cinnamon, optional
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup, optional

Instructions
 

  • Cook the rolled oats according to package instructions (using water). Add the raspberries, vanilla extract, nuts, optional cinnamon and optional maple syrup. If you prefer your oatmeal a bit creamier, add a dash of desired milk.
  • *Add 20 calories if you mix in a teaspoon of maple syrup, honey or brown sugar.
