You won’t believe how much butter and sugar go into a typical recipe for Hot Buttered Rum. Hint: It’s the equivalent of 20 chocolate kisses. I know—I was in total shock. That’s why I decided to whip up a slimmer version that’s just as yummy and cozy as the original. You’ll notice there’s no actual butter in my recipe…that’s because the maple syrup provides a buttery flavor. Cheers!

This recipe makes 1.5 cups
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground ginger
  •  teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablepoons rum
Preparation:

Add all the ingredients into the cup with hot water and stir until well combined. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy.
