Green Goddess Dressing
This green is the queen! If you’ve ever wanted a dressing that looks pretty, tastes incredible, and takes only minutes to make—this one’s it. Just toss a few simple ingredients into a blender, puree, and boom: you’ve got yourself a velvety, herb-packed dressing that’s as versatile as it is vibrant.

The signature color comes from creamy avocado (which also gives it that silky body) and fresh basil (for a bright, herby lift). I love drizzling it over leafy salads, spooning it onto grain bowls, or serving it as a dip with crunchy raw veggies. And here’s a little tip: add a touch more water if you like it thinner, or keep it thick and luscious for dipping. Either way, it’ll steal the spotlight.

Looking for inspiration on what to pair it with?
Try it spooned onto my Spinach Turkey Burgers, or alongside a big platter of Rainbow Veggie Skewers. It also makes a vibrant dip for Baked French Fries or even a spread on this Chicken Salad Wrap or Avocado Caprese Toast. I love to drizzle it on my Harvest Bowl, Sheet Pan Rosemary Chicken and Veggies… even my Bell Pepper Tuna Melt! Trust me—you’ll find endless ways to put this green goddess to good use.

Reasons to Go Green!
- Creamy dreaminess: Avocado creates a luscious, dairy-free base that’s smooth and satisfying.
- Fresh + herby: Basil brings garden-fresh flavor that brightens up any dish.
- Flexible texture: Keep it thick for dipping or add water for a pourable dressing.
- Plays well with everything: Perfect on salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, wraps, or as a veggie dip.
This blessing of a dressing proves how easy—and delicious—it can be to eat green. Make a batch, stash it in your fridge, and let it add a pop of flavor (and color!) to your week.

If creamy dressings make you as happy as they make me, you’ll also want to check out my Avocado Caesar Dressing, Ginger-Turmeric Tahini Dressing, Spicy Cashew Dressing, or Creamy Dill Pickle Ranch Dressing—all deliciously different… but equally simple and versatile!
I use this dressing to make my Green Goddess Coleslaw— DELISH!

- ½ to ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¾ cup water

- Store in fridge in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days and add a little squeeze of lemon juice after each use to keep the avocado fresh.

Besides tasting great (and easy) I can make it on ski trips ….rather than carrying bottled dressing in our already-full containers, I can make just-in-time at the time share villa, blessed with full kitchen including blender!
Yes there’s a City Market but then I’d be schlepping half bottle home.
Love this, Robin!! Thank you so much for sharing. Sounds like the perfect slope-side strategy!! xx
I have made this several times and it’s delicious. What is the serving size? Did I miss it? Seeing as how it’s a dressing, I’m guessing 1 Tablespoon, but would like to know.
Hi Kate! Thank you for catching that…the serving amount was actually missing (my error!). I just updated the recipe and added it in thanks to you. I based the nutrition on 1 tablespoon (you are correct). Of course, a typical serving will be more than that, but I felt it was easy to adjust the math (double, triple, etc) based on this starting place.
So glad you’ve been enjoying it. This dressing is a favorite in my house!
