Juicy Greek Turkey Burger Patties with Feta
Turkey burgers are going Greek… and these patties are filled to the brim with savory goodness!

I’m taking burger night on a little Mediterranean vacation! These Greek Burgers with Feta and Roasted Red Pepper are juicy, herby, and full of fresh flavor—and they just might become your new weeknight favorite. I pack the patties with lean ground turkey, roasted red peppers, briny feta, and a punchy combo of garlic, onion, and oregano. Then I tuck them into mini whole grain pitas with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a generous dollop of tzatziki (or hummus when I’m out!). The whole thing is light, satisfying, and so fun to eat.

Why I’m hooked on this recipe
- Mediterranean flavor bomb: Feta, roasted peppers, garlic, oregano, and fresh herbs in every bite. So darn delish!
- Light and satisfying: Made with lean ground turkey and packed with protein and fiber.
- Versatile & meal-prep friendly: You can grill them or cook ‘em in a pan, serve in a pita or on a salad—options galore!
- Better-for-you burger night: It’s a wholesome twist on a comfort food favorite that feels indulgent, not heavy.
As a dietitian, I love that these burgers are loaded with protein and veggies, yet still feel like comfort food. They’re easy to prep ahead, versatile enough to cook on the stovetop or grill, and perfect for anyone looking to add more Mediterranean-style meals into the rotation. If you’re into these flavors, you’ll also want to try my Lentil and Edamame Hummus, Grilled Romaine Mediterranean Salad LINK, and Sheet Pan Baked Feta, Sausage & Veggies—all are so so good.

Here’s a little Joy tip
I first made these for a casual summer backyard dinner with friends, and they were such a hit I ended up tripling the batch the next time around and stashing extras in my freezer for easy reheat-and-eat meals. Now they’re a staple in my house—we’ve even been known to skip the pita and serve them over a fresh Greek salad with extra feta and a red wine vinaigrette. It was such a winner, I even turned it into an official Greek Burger Bowl recipe!

Try it with my Tzatziki Sauce!

Juicy Greek Turkey Burger Patties with Feta
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey, at least 90% lean
- ½ cup finely chopped jarred roasted red pepper, patted dry with paper towels
- ⅓ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ cup finely diced red onion
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon of dried), optional
- ¼ cup finely chopped jarred pepperoncini peppers, patted dry with paper towels, optional
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
- Whole-grain mini pita breads, split
- Tzatziki Sauce, optional
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, roasted red pepper, feta, garlic, oregano, red onion, parsley, and optional dill and pepperoncini, if using. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix with clean hands or a rubber spatula until everything is fully incorporated.
- Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape into large patties placing on a nonstick surface such as wax paper or parchment. Sprinkle kosher salt over the tops of each patty. (For grilling, I recommend misting both sides of the burgers—and the grill—with oil spray because they can really stick!)
- Coat a large sauté pan with oil spray and warm over medium-high heat. (Alternatively, preheat an indoor or outdoor grill pan coated with oil spray.)
- Place the burgers in the pan and cook for ~6 minutes per side, or until the burgers are no longer pink in the center or 165˚. After flipping, sprinkle kosher salt over the tops of the second side as well. (Pro tip for outdoor grilling: the burgers will start to loosen slightly from the grates when they are ready to flip. You are looking for nice char marks and caramelization.)
- Serve in mini pitas layered with crisp lettuce, thinly sliced tomato and a dollop of optional Tzatziki Sauce.

.sounds yummy…can’t wait to try it, turkey burgers

Love this recipe but I have difficulty biting into a large burger. SO, I am doing the Greek Salad as seen on the show. We are huge Turkey Burger Fans Grilled outside. Thanx
Hi Kim! Thanks so much for the sweet note—and I’m thrilled you’re loving the Greek flavors! You can absolutely make the turkey burgers thinner or shape them into smaller sliders to make them easier to bite into. They’ll cook a bit faster, too—just keep an eye on them so they don’t dry out. And grilling them outside is perfection. Enjoy every bite!
Excellent
Hi Eileen, we’re so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting us know and sharing the love!

Just made these burgers and they were very flavorful, it really needs the tzatziki sauce to bring the flavors all together, also added tomatoes and lettuce, definitely a keeper,
