Ginger Green Tea

I love the aroma that fills my kitchen when I make this brew. Both ginger and green tea possess potent anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients
 

  • ½ inch fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 green tea bag, or 1 tablespoon loose green tea leaves in a tea ball
  • 2 tablespoons milk, optional
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey, optional

Instructions
 

  • Bring 1 cup water to a boil. Add the ginger and boil for 30 seconds more. Remove from the heat, and add the tea bag or tea ball.
  • Steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the milk and sugar, if using.

Notes

Note: Add 10 calories per 2 tablespoons skim (fat-free) milk; add 20 calories per 1 teaspoon sugar or honey.
