Cool, creamy and wonderfully refreshing, this Cucumber Yogurt Dip comes together in about five minutes with Greek yogurt, crisp cucumber, fresh cilantro and a touch of cumin. It’s a light, protein-rich dip that makes raw vegetables infinitely more exciting, and there’s no blender, food processor or cooking required. Consider it the easy, shortcut cousin of my Tzatziki— same cool, zippy flavor, but a little less work.

If you know me, you know I love using plain Greek yogurt in so many ways…smoothies, overnight oats, puddings, baked goods, and of course, dips and dressings. As a dietitian, I appreciate that it provides satisfying protein and calcium while creating the thick, velvety texture we crave. In this easy dip, it becomes the perfect tangy backdrop for cooling cucumber, fresh cilantro and earthy cumin.

For the thickest consistency, gently squeeze excess moisture from the shredded cucumber before stirring it into the yogurt. You can enjoy the dip right away, but if time allows, refrigerate it for 15 to 30 minutes so the flavors have a chance to mingle. Feel free to finish it with an extra sprinkle of cumin, chopped cilantro or cracked black pepper before serving.
