If you’re like me and find yourself finishing jar after jar of peanut butter, this ingenious trick is a game-changer! When you think you’ve scraped out every last bit, there’s actually a treasure trove of PB clinging to the sides and bottom of the container, just out of reach from traditional utensils—and fingers, LOL. But fear not! By adding a few simple ingredients, you can effortlessly transform this overlooked goodness into a delectable, heart-healthy sauce or dressing that elevates salads, bowls, pasta, and dipping experiences to new heights. It’s the ultimate solution to ensure not a single morsel of peanut butter (or any other nut butter) goes to waste.

  • Prep time
  • Total Time
This recipe makes approx. 5 Tablespoons
  • 2 Tablespoons peanut butter (scrape the sides!)*
  • 1.5 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha, optional for mild heat (more for extra heat!)
  • 1-3 Tablespoons water**

  • * You can swap in tahini or almond butter
  • ** Start with 1 Tablespoon and add more water, one Tablespoon at a time, until you hit desired consistency

Add soy sauce, lime juice, and Sriracha into empty peanut butter jar, and scrape down the sides to collect as much leftover peanut butter as possible and mix it all together. It’ll start out stringy but soon comes together into a thick nut buttery paste.

Add water one tablespoon at a time, stirring after each until you create your desired consistency. Add more Sriracha for a fiery kick!
