If you want to make delicious chocolate crunch bars at home with just two ingredients, then you have come to the right place! And if you haven’t tried this recipe yet… let me just say, I’m officially excited for you 😉

Imagine this: Just two ingredients, zero fuss, and the end result tastes just like a homemade Nestle Crunch bar… maybe even better. You simply melt your chocolate, stir in a crispy rice cereal, spread it out on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and let the fridge do the rest. That’s it! No baking, no fancy tools, and barely any cleanup. These bars hit the sweet spot with rich, chocolatey goodness and the perfect pop of crunch in every bite!

Why you’ll love this recipe:

  • Two ingredients: When your pantry is looking sparse but your cravings are strong, this recipe shows up.
  • It’s a grown-up Nestle Crunch bar: Same satisfying snap and chocolatey bite, but you get a larger serving for less sugar.
  • Snack-hack of the year: Make a batch, break it up, and boom—snack time, lunchboxes, and dessert are all handled.
  • Perfectly customizable: Use dark chocolate, semi-sweet, or even dairy-free. Toss in a pinch of flaky salt, or go wild with toasted, chopped nuts. Your treat, your rules!
Step 1: Add crispy rice cereal to melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.
Step 2: Spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet and chill in the fridge to set.

Here’s how was this sweet treat born:

When my son Cole was little, he looooved those blue-wrapped Crunch bars given out at Halloween and sold at our school’s football games. So, one day we decided to make our own—and we never looked back. He lives many miles away in Austin now, but he always sends me pictures when he makes them with his fiancé and I always gush!

If you love these Crunch Bars, you’re in good company—I’ve got a whole lineup of easy, chocolatey treats you can whip up in minutes. Try the Snickers Dates or Almond Joy Dates when you’re craving that candy bar vibe with a better-for-you twist (so satisfying, it’s wild). The Super Seed Chocolate Bark is crunchy, a little salty, and packed with feel-good ingredients. My Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Cups are basically the peanut butter-lovers’ version of this recipe, and the 2-Ingredient Fudge Cakes are rich, gooey, and almost too easy to make. Simple steps, serious chocolate payoff!

2-Ingredient Chocolate Crunch Bars

Just two ingredients, zero fuss, and the end result tastes just like a homemade Nestle Crunch bar… maybe even better!
Yield: 16 pieces
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips*
  • 2 cups crispy brown rice cereal**, not “puffed” rice cereal***
Ingredient Details to Know
*If you follow a dairy-free diet, choose dairy-free chocolate chips.
**If you follow a gluten-free diet, choose a certified gluten-free cereal. (Be careful of malt added to some cereals!)
***Be sure to use a “crispy” rice cereal since that is what provides the crunch (do not use a  “puffed” rice cereal). Also, try to find a brand that makes a brown rice version. But if you can’t find one, a regular crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies, although not gluten-free) will work perfectly, too.

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or saucepan on the stovetop over low heat. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in the microwave by heating for about 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and velvety.
  • Add the crispy rice cereal into the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread the mixture on the prepared baking sheet (it doesn't have to be perfectly shaped, and will likely not reach the outer edges) and place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Once it’s cool, cut into bars or break it into irregular pieces and place them on a festive serving tray.
