You can customize these beauties by swapping in balsamic glaze for the pesto, ground turkey for the chicken, and piling on extra preferred veggies. This recipe makes 4 burgers
  • 1 pound ground chicken breast (or lean ground turkey)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 4 to 8 tablespoons pesto (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 thick tomato slices
  • 4 whole-grain hamburger buns of English muffins, optional

Combine the ground chicken breast with the salt, pepper and garlic, being careful not to overmix. Shape the mixture into 4 large patties and grill approximately 5 mins per side or until cooked through. Alternatively, you can cook on a skillet that’s been liberally misted with nonstick olive oil spray.

Top each burger with pesto, mozzarella, and tomato.
