Crispy BBQ Chicken Tortilla Pizza (Ready in 10 Minutes!)
Pizza night just got a whole lot easier… and saucier! This BBQ Chicken Tortilla Pizza is my go-to when I’m craving something cheesy, protein-rich, and fast. It comes together in minutes and hits all the right notes: sweet, tangy, a touch smoky (depending on the BBQ sauce you use), and perfectly crisp thanks to a toasted tortilla crust.

I loooove a thin-crust pizza, especially when it’s piled high with yummy fixings, and this one is my thin-crust version of BBQ Chicken Pizza with a Homemade Protein Crust. It delivers that same irresistible combo of BBQ sauce, juicy chicken, and gooey melted cheese… only it’s ready in a flash because I use the ultimate short-cut—a store-bought tortilla! Perfect for when you want that pizza-night joy without kneading to prepare dough. (Couldn’t resist, lol!)

Why you’ll crave this crisp creation
- Thin-crust perfection: The tortilla transforms into a golden, crackly crust that rivals your favorite flatbread.
- Piled high with goodness: Sweet BBQ sauce, melty cheese, and tender chicken make every bite DELISH.
- Fast and foolproof: From start to finish in under 10 minutes—perfect for busy weeknights.

If you’ve tried my Cheesy Tortilla Pizza, you already know how magical a simple tortilla can be. It crisps up into the thinnest, crunchiest crust imaginable—an instant base for any toppings you’re craving. This BBQ version takes that same foundation and turns it into a smoky-sweet, protein-packed meal that’s just as easy but feels totally new.
And if you’re in the mood to mix things up, you can use lavash bread instead of a tortilla and top it with greens for a fun twist—kind of like my Lavash Salad Pizza. It’s another quick way to satisfy your pizza craving while sneaking in extra veggies and crunch!

Crispy BBQ Chicken Tortilla Pizza (Ready in 10 Minutes!)
Ingredients
- 1 whole-grain flour tortilla
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce, or more to taste
- 2 ounces cooked, diced chicken mixed with BBQ sauce
- 2 to 4 tablespoons shredded 2% Mexican cheese, or part-skim mozzarella
- Red pepper flakes, if you like fiery heat, optional
- ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced, optional
Instructions
- Set the oven to broil. Place the tortilla on a baking sheet and put it in the oven on the middle rack (it can burn too easily on the top rack).
- Cook for 3 to 5 minutes total, flipping after each minute. (Note: Ovens and tortilla ingredients will vary, so watch carefully so the tortilla doesn’t burn. If air pockets form and your tortilla bubbles, press down with a wide spatula to flatten or pop a small hole in the tortilla with a sharp knife to deflate.)
- Remove the tortilla from the oven and spread BBQ sauce on top, covering the majority of the tortilla except for a border of about 1/8 inch all the way around. Add the chicken, optional onion, and sprinkle cheese evenly over the top, along with any other preferred seasonings.
- Place back in the oven for about 30 to 45 seconds, until the cheese is melted. Let it cool slightly to allow it to crunch up more. Cut into slices and enjoy.

Will a corn tortilla work for gf?
Hi Cheryl! Yes—this can work with a GF corn tortilla, but a few things to know since corn tortillas cook faster and tend to be dryer…
-Bake the tortilla on a sheet pan at 425°F (middle rack) for 4–6 minutes, flipping once halfway, until lightly crisp.
-Add the BBQ sauce, chicken, and cheese, then bake 2–3 minutes more until the cheese melts. Skip the broiling entirely.
Hope that helps… and you enjoy your crispy pizza masterpiece!
There’s onions in the pic but not in the recipe?
Will they affect the carb count? Thank you
Hi Alli! The red onions are optional (I always add them to mine, thinly sliced).. and since onions are so low carb, it will only add 1-2 grams. Hope that helps!
Delicious. Instead of heating up the oven, easier to make in the Air Fryer!!!
Hi Ellen! The air fryer is a great shortcut! Thanks for sharing your even easier pizza hack with the community!! — Eliza (Team Joy)
