How to eat everything at Thanksgiving and not gain weight

QUESTION: There are so many delicious goodies at Thanksgiving that I often eat to the point of feeling sick. How can I avoid stuffing myself?

ANSWER: Thanksgiving is tough—and special—and only comes one time a year, so you should enjoy! Here’s how to indulge in the deliciousness without overdoing it.

Follow My Rule of One:

  • Stick with just ONE of each deliciously tempting hors d’oeuvres before the big meal.
  • At the feast, fill ONE dinner plate with whatever looks most yummy (smaller portions will allow you to sample more sides).
  • Enjoy ONE alcoholic drink.
  • And ONE dessert (or a sliver of two, if you can’t decide).

If you’re torn between pumpkin, apple and pecan pie, go for pumpkin because it’s the lightest at 400 calories. AND by nixing the outside crust …you’ll save yourself 100 calories!
