Two ingredients, ten minutes of hands-on time, and dinner practically makes itself. The tempeh soaks up all that savory teriyaki flavor while it bakes, and because it's fermented soy, you get a generous helping of plant-based protein in every bite.

Total Time: 35 minutesmins
Ingredients
½cupreduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
8ouncestempeh, cut into ¼-inch strips
Sesame seeds for garnish, optional
Instructions
Pour teriyaki sauce in a bowl, add tempeh slices and marinate. Carefully mix so all strips are well-coated (don’t mix hard or they’ll break apart). Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Place strips in a single layer on a baking sheet that has been liberally coated with nonstick spray. Strips should not be touching. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip and bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove from oven, brush with additional teriyaki sauce, and sprinkle with optional sesame seeds.
Notes
Alternatively, you can sauté tempeh strips. Liberally coat a skillet with nonstick cooking spray and warm over medium heat. Add tempeh strips, reserving leftover teriyaki sauce, and carefully sauté for about 7 minutes. During the last 1 to 2 minutes, add the remaining teriyaki sauce and continue to sauté to thoroughly coat pieces.Nutrition facts for recipe doesn't include eating the rest of the soy sauce after marinating, add additional calories if using the extra soy sauce with the meal.
