Age: 37
Height: 5'5"
Hometown: Rockville Centre, NY
Starting weight: 182
Goal weight: 150

What was the hardest part? The hardest part for me was having the determination and willpower to say NO to the foods I normally would say YES YES YES to! Like the salty snack foods, chips, pretzels, and popcorn. Those are the foods that I have learned are trigger foods for me — once I start I can’t stop. Now, I snack on almonds, carrots, peppers, a slice of cheese and green tea instead.

What is your new favorite healthy food or recipe? My three favorite recipes are: the Buffalo Chicken Chilli, Lettuce Wraps and Turkey Burgers (sorry couldn’t pick just one!).

What one change was most effective for helping you lose weight? The one change that was most effective for me was planning my meals ahead of time and having the right foods on hand in my fridge. I used Joy’s meal planner in the beginning of the week to plan three days at a time and printed out the grocery list from the website. This helped me stay on track.

What’s the best compliment you’ve received? The best compliment I have received is when people say I look like the “old Heidi” from college! College was over 15 years ago for me, so that puts a smile on my face.
