This recipe makes 80 balls
Ingredients:
  • • 1 watermelon, sliced in half
  • • 1 cup tequila
  • • ¾ cup orange liquor (or orange juice)
  • • ½ cup lime juice
  • • Optional coarse kosher or sea salt and lime zest for garnish
Preparation:

Using an ice cream scooper, create a large batch of “watermelon balls” from each watermelon half. As you’re scooping them out, place the formed balls in a separate bowl. Be sure to leave the collected watermelon juice at the bottom of each watermelon shell (the juice will mingle with the margarita mix and add great flavor!).

Add the watermelon balls back to the hollowed-out watermelon.

Make your margarita mixture: Using one of the bowls that held your watermelon balls (this way, you won’t have to clean another bowl!), combine tequila, orange liquor or OJ, and lime juice. Give it a quick mix and pour over the two watermelon bowls. Using a large spoon, mix the balls to ensure they’re nice and coated. Cover and stash in fridge for at least an hour to chill and marinate (it can sit for many hours in the fridge). Right before serving, sprinkle with some optional salt and lime zest, if you’d like. It’s a goodie!
