I love making my own salad dressings at home—it’s a lot easier than you’d think. And besides being lower in calories, fat and sodium, it allows me to use wholesome ingredients. The health payoff is definitely worth a bit of extra effort. Now you can pour some goodness over your greens.

This recipe makes 1 cup
Ingredients:
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar (choose a good-quality, aged vinegar if possible)
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup water
Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients in a jar or container with a screw-on lid. Screw on the lid and shake the container vigorously until everything is well combined.

Note: You can store this dressing in the refrigerator in the same container you prepped it in. Just shake the container vigorously before each use to mix the ingredients.

Makes 8 servings; 2 tablespoons per serving
